Tomato, bread and basil salad

Enjoy the refreshing flavors of ripe tomatoes, crunchy bread, and fragrant basil in this classic Italian-inspired salad. Perfect for summer dining!

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 beautiful tomatoes, cubed
  • 1 cup yesterday's baguette, torn into pieces
  • 1/4 cup basil, torn
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon good vinegar, your favourite
  • 3 tablespoons EV olive oil
  • salt and fresh black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Place the bread chunks at the base of the serving bowl for the salad.
  2. Include the tomato.
  3. Scatter vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper on top.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Add torn basil leaves on top.
  6. Cover and let it sit for approximately an hour to enhance the flavors.
