Taste of home's buffalo wings

Ingredients:

  • 25 whole chicken wings
  • oil, for frying
  • 1 cup butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup louisiana-style hot sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 3/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • celery ribs and ranch salad dressing, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Slice the chicken wings into 3 pieces and remove the wing tip parts. Heat up 1 inch of oil in an electric skillet until it reaches 190 °C. Cook the wings in batches in the oil for about 3-4 minutes per side or until the chicken juices are clear. Place the cooked wings on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  2. In the meantime, melt the butter in a small saucepan and mix in the hot sauce and seasonings. Transfer the chicken to a large bowl and pour the sauce over it, tossing well to cover. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the coated chicken to a serving plate. Optionally, serve with celery and ranch dressing.
