Tadka salad dressing
Elevate your salad with the savory flavors of Tadka dressing. This aromatic blend of spices will tantalize your taste buds and transform your meal.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon tahini sauce or peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Place oil in the smallest saucepan available. Heat over medium heat. After 2 minutes, add black mustard seeds. Monitor the oil closely. Once the seeds cease popping, turn off the heat and allow the tadka to cool.
- Combine remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. The flavored salad dressing is now prepared. It can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for the following day.
- My preferred salad elements to enhance this dressing include: a mix of arugula and lettuce, green olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, pepitas, soaked walnuts, fresh mozzarella, apple or pear slices, and homemade croutons.
- Please note: If desired, you can substitute mustard seeds with fenugreek seeds, carom seeds, or nigella seeds.
