Strawberry salad

Indulge in the delightful combination of fresh strawberries, mixed greens, tangy vinaigrette, and crunchy nuts in this vibrant salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package ramen noodles, crushed, flavor packet discarded
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, washed and dried 
  • One 5-ounce bag baby spinach
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced 
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. To prepare the salad: Heat the oven to 200 °C. Stir together the ramen noodles, almonds, sunflower seeds, and melted butter in a small bowl. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake in the oven, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, for approximately 10 minutes. Take out from the oven and let it cool down. 
  2. Rip the lettuce and mix it with the spinach, strawberries, and cheese in a large salad bowl. 
  3. For the dressing: Stir the sugar into the vinegar until dissolved. Blend the oil, paprika, salt, and garlic together, then add them to the sugar-vinegar mix. Mix thoroughly and refrigerate until ready to use. 
  4. Right before serving, sprinkle the crispy topping on the green salad and gently mix it with enough dressing to cover the greens.
