Spooky salad

Prepare a chillingly delicious spooky salad with seasonal ingredients and haunting flavors. Perfect for a terrifyingly tasty feast.

Ingredients:

  • 4 to 6 cups mixed greens
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives 
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, halved 
  • 1/2 cup hummus 
  • 1 cup small mozzarella balls 
  • 1/2 cup sliced pimento-stuffed green olives 
  • 1 cup baby carrots 
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds 
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar 
  • 1/4 cup honey 
  • 1 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup canola oil 
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 

Instructions:

  1. To prepare the salad: Place the mixed greens in a salad bowl. Assemble the eyeballs: Stick a black olive slice onto the cut side of every tomato half using a dollop of hummus. Attach a green olive and pimiento slice onto each mozzarella ball using hummus. For the finger-like effect, attach a slice of almond to the tip of each baby carrot with hummus.
  2. For the creepy blood dressing: Combine the ketchup, vinegar, honey, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Slowly pour in the oil while whisking continuously, then season with salt and pepper. Mix the dressing with the lettuce, then arrange all the body parts on top so they are visible.
