Spicy yam potato salad

Try this zesty yam potato salad bursting with flavors of spicy goodness. Perfect for a bold and tantalizing twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients:

  • 450g yams, peeled and cut into eighths
  • 450g rose potatoes, peeled, cut into eighths
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon harissa
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoon chopped mint
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Submerge the yams and potatoes in a pan filled with lukewarm water. Incorporate a tablespoon of salt. Heat the water until boiling, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes and yams are soft. Strain them and allow them to cool down to room temperature
  2. Combine the seasonings, harissa, and Greek yogurt. Put to the side.
  3. Combine the rest of the ingredients with the yams and potatoes. Stir well, add salt and pepper to taste, and then serve.
