Spicy spring onion salad

  • 4 spring onions, cut into long, thin strips
  • ¼ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp gochugaru chilli flakes (see tip)

Instructions:

  1. Place the scallions and onion in a spacious container filled with cold water and let it soak for a minimum of 5 minutes (or a maximum of 2 hours) inside the refrigerator, until the scallions become curly.
  2. When you are prepared to present the dish, thoroughly drain the vegetables, remove excess water using a salad spinner or by patting them dry, and then move them to a moderate-sized bowl. Include the sesame oil, gochugaru, and a bit of salt, mix gently to cover the vegetables evenly. Present promptly.
