Spicy beef salad
Delight in a zesty twist with our Spicy Beef Salad. Savor the bold flavors of tender beef, fresh vegetables, and a fiery dressing that will tantalize your taste buds. Ideal for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 450g beef, cut into thin strips about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide
- 2 large Japanese cucumbers, peeled, halved and sliced into thin crescents
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced lemon grass
- 1 1/2 tablespoons roasted rice powder, optional
- 5 cloves very fresh garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced shallots
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 3 to 4 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 2 to 3 Thai chiles, or serranos, thinly sliced with seeds
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 head romaine, inner leaves only
- 3 green onions, sliced diagonally
Instructions:
- Get the grill ready and grill beef strips for 4 to 6 minutes until medium rare or cooked to your preference. Make sure to flip them once. Alternatively, you can also use previously grilled steak, sliced thinly. Put the beef strips in a big bowl and mix them with cucumber slices.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the dressing ingredients thoroughly. Pour this over the beef and cucumbers, tossing well to ensure everything is coated. Place romaine lettuce leaves on a platter and top them with the beef salad. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve the salad either at room temperature or chilled.
