Smoked trout salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 (230g) package boneless smoked trout
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup nonfat plain strained yogurt, such as skyr or Greek
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped red onion or shallot
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Pickled jalapeños for garnish
  • Whole-grain crackers, apple slices & cucumber slices for serving

Instructions:

  1. Peel off the trout skin and throw it away. Mince the trout and put it in a medium bowl. Combine sour cream, yogurt, horseradish, onion (or shallot), parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, and pepper. Mix well. Decorate with pickled jalapeños and serve with crackers, apple slices, and/or cucumber slices, as preferred.
