Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 romaine lettuce hearts
- 2 cups quartered grape tomatoes or diced plum tomatoes
Instructions:
- To make the blue cheese dressing: Stir together the sour cream, mayonnaise, blue cheese, buttermilk, hot sauce, and lemon juice in a medium-sized bowl until thoroughly combined. Season with salt and pepper.
- For the salad: Trim 2 inches off the root end of each romaine heart and discard. Take out 8 outer leaves from each heart and arrange them with the spine facing down on a large serving platter. Cut the remaining leaves into 1/2-inch-wide pieces and place them in a large bowl. Mix in the tomatoes and blue cheese dressing, tossing well to ensure everything is coated.
- Distribute the salad mixture evenly among the individual romaine leaves. You can refrigerate these for up to 1 hour before serving.
