Salad pizza
Indulge in the delicious combination of fresh greens, crisp veggies, savory meats, and tangy dressings with our delightful salad pizza recipe.
Ingredients:
- 450g store-bought pizza dough, room temperature
- 3 tablespoons plus 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, finely grated
- Kosher salt, freshly ground pepper
- 1 large head of Bibb lettuce, leaves separated and torn
- 110g Gorgonzola, crumbled (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1/2 cup pickled red onion
- 3 tablespoons sliced chives
- 110g thinly sliced prosciutto, but any good thinly sliced ham will be delicious here
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 475°F. Put the dough on a baking sheet with edges and pour 1 tablespoon of oil over it; rotate the tray until the dough is coated. Extend the dough with your hands until it covers the entire sheet; ensure it's thin as preferred. If the dough retracts, allow it to rest for a few minutes before stretching it again.
- Combine minced garlic with 2 tablespoons of oil in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the dough, use your hands to spread it evenly across the surface; season with salt and pepper. Bake the dough until it turns golden, puffed, and crispy all around, about 10 to 12 minutes. Let it cool slightly to prevent the lettuce from wilting.
- Mix lettuce, Gorgonzola cheese, pickled onion, and chives in a big bowl; season with salt and pepper. Whisk vinegar and sugar in another small bowl, then gradually pour in the remaining 1/3 cup of oil while whisking constantly. Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.
- Place the salad on the baked pizza crust and lay the prosciutto over it. Cut the pizza into square pieces.
