Russian wedge salad

Indulge in the flavors of a classic Russian wedge salad, featuring crisp lettuce, smoky bacon, tangy blue cheese, and creamy dressing. Perfect for a taste of elegance.

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, cut into 6 wedges
  • 1 tomato, chopped 
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon minced red onion 
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish 
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup 
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce 
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs 
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the salad: Heat the oven to 190 °C. Place the bacon on a rack set in a baking sheet with edges and bake until it turns crispy, which usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Allow it to cool down before breaking it into pieces.
  2. While waiting for the bacon to cook, create the Russian dressing: Blend together the mayonnaise, garlic, red onion, pickle relish, ketchup, and chili sauce in a food processor until it reaches a slightly smooth consistency. Add the eggs and pulse a few more times until everything is mixed well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Arrange the iceberg lettuce wedges on 6 salad plates, drizzle the Russian dressing on top, and then sprinkle with the crumbled bacon and diced tomatoes.
