Romaine wedge salad

Indulge in the crisp freshness of a Romaine wedge salad, topped with savory bacon, creamy blue cheese dressing, and crunchy croutons. A culinary delight!

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise 
  • 1/4 cup sour cream 
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar 
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Italian flat-leaf parsley, chopped 
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 
  • Splash distilled white vinegar 
  • 1 heart of romaine, end trimmed, halved 
  • 1/4 cup chopped Roma tomato 

Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon slices in a medium skillet over medium heat until they are slightly crispy, which should take around 5 to 8 minutes. Afterwards, place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil and let them cool down.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, buttermilk, parsley, dill, garlic powder, pepper, and vinegar until the mixture is smooth. Take half of the cooked bacon, finely chop it, and add it to the dressing. The other half of the bacon should be roughly chopped and kept aside for later use as a garnish.
  3. Place the halved romaine hearts on plates. Drizzle a generous amount of the prepared dressing on each heart, then sprinkle chopped tomatoes and the reserved bacon on top.
