Ingredients:
- 450g red cabbage (one small head, cored), very thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil, like canola
- 1 teaspoon dried cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
- juice of one lime, about 2 teaspoons
- 1/3 cup roasted, shelled, unsalted pumpkin seeds
Instructions:
- Transfer the cabbage to a spacious bowl.
- Warm up the oil in a small, sturdy pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is heated, reduce the heat to medium, and gently put in the cumin seeds to let them flavor the oil for approximately one minute. Be cautious to prevent the seeds or oil from burning, as it can happen rapidly.
- Gently drizzle the oil and cumin seeds onto the cabbage, expect some splattering. Mix all the components together.
- Incorporate the remaining ingredients and mix well. Present at ambient temperature.
