Orchard salad
Delight your senses with a vibrant Orchard Salad bursting with crisp greens, juicy fruits, crunchy nuts, and zesty vinaigrette. A culinary masterpiece!
Ingredients:
- 1 head red leaf lettuce
- 1 head green leaf lettuce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice, a wedge
- 1 crisp red apple, such as McIntosh or Paula Red, thinly sliced
- 1 Anjou pear, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons apple cider
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, eyeball it
- Salt and coarse black pepper
- 230g sharp cheddar, thinly sliced
Instructions:
- Roughly cut lettuce into pieces. Drizzle some lemon juice over apples and pears and mix with the greens. Mix apple cider, vinegar, and sugar in a bowl and gradually whisk in oil. Drizzle the dressing over the salad, add salt and pepper to taste, and toss well to mix and coat everything evenly. Present the salad with a topping of thinly sliced sharp cheddar cheese.
