New caesar-style salad
Indulge in the classic flavors of a Caesar-style salad with crisp romaine lettuce, tangy Caesar dressing, savory Parmesan cheese, and crunchy croutons.
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2-inch thick slices French bread, cubed
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon olive or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon anchovy paste
- 1 clove Frieda's Elephant Garlic, peeled and finely minced
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cups Limestone lettuce, washed and dried and torn into bite size pieces
- 3 cups Romaine lettuce, washed and dried and torn into bite size pieces
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray that prevents sticking. Spread bread cubes on the baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °Cor 10 to 12 minutes or until they turn golden brown. While the bread is baking, mix lemon juice, olive or vegetable oil, anchovy paste, elephant garlic, and pepper in a small bowl. Once the bread is toasted, take it out of the oven and transfer to a shallow bowl. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the dressing over the croutons and mix well to ensure they are coated evenly.
- Combine limestone and romaine lettuces in a salad bowl. Add the croutons, the rest of the dressing, and Parmesan cheese. Mix thoroughly and then serve.
