Mueller's classic lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 450g ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons salad or olive oil
  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomatoes
  • 2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1/2 package (230g) Mueller's lasagna noodles
  • 450g ricotta
  • 230g mozzarella cheese, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Heat some oil in a large, sturdy pan and cook the beef and onion until lightly browned. Stir in tomatoes (either blended or crushed with the back of a spoon), tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic powder, pepper, and oregano. Let it simmer without a lid, stirring occasionally, for approximately 30 minutes. While the sauce is cooking, prepare the lasagne noodles according to the package instructions and then drain them. Take a 13x9-inch baking dish and start by spreading around 1 cup of the sauce on the bottom. Proceed to layer the lasagne noodles, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, repeating until you finish with a layer of sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese on top.Place the assembled lasagne in an oven preheated to 350°F and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until it is lightly browned and bubbling.
