Ladd's chopped wedge salad
Indulge in the flavorful medley of crispy iceberg lettuce, tangy blue cheese, smoky bacon, and zesty cherry tomatoes in this classic chopped wedge salad.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices bacon
- 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, chopped into wedges
- 1/2 cup grated "supermarket" mozzarella
- Italian Ranch Dressing, recipe follows
- Pinch freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
- 1 tablespoon jarred pesto
- 1 tablespoon sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
Instructions:
- Cook the bacon in a frying pan until it is crispy, which usually takes around 7 minutes. Place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Cut it into tiny bits.
- Place the diced iceberg lettuce on a small plate, then scatter the shredded mozzarella and diced bacon on top. Drizzle with the Italian-style Ranch Dressing and sprinkle some pepper to finish.
- Put together the mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, Parmesan cheese, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, salt, pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a food processor. Blend until everything is mixed well.
