Ladd's chopped wedge salad

Indulge in the flavorful medley of crispy iceberg lettuce, tangy blue cheese, smoky bacon, and zesty cherry tomatoes in this classic chopped wedge salad.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, chopped into wedges 
  • 1/2 cup grated "supermarket" mozzarella 
  • Italian Ranch Dressing, recipe follows
  • Pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream 
  • 2 tablespoons milk 
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan 
  • 1 tablespoon jarred pesto 
  • 1 tablespoon sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, chopped 
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon in a frying pan until it is crispy, which usually takes around 7 minutes. Place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Cut it into tiny bits.
  2. Place the diced iceberg lettuce on a small plate, then scatter the shredded mozzarella and diced bacon on top. Drizzle with the Italian-style Ranch Dressing and sprinkle some pepper to finish.
  3. Put together the mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, Parmesan cheese, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, salt, pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a food processor. Blend until everything is mixed well.
