Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Dry prawns (preferably larger ones)
- 1/2 cup Freshly grated coconut (using a coconut scraper)
- 1 Large onion, chopped finely
- 1/2 teaspoon Tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon Oil (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
Instructions:
- Prepare the dried shrimp by removing the head, legs, and tails.
- Grill the shrimp over medium heat on a cast iron grill or skillet.
- Continuously stir; once they turn golden brown, remove from heat (you may add oil while grilling if needed). They will become crispy and crunchy after some time.
- Thoroughly combine coconut, cayenne pepper, turmeric, tamarind paste, and salt.
- Just before serving, mix in the shrimp pieces and diced onions and stir well one more time.
- Avoid adding shrimp in advance to prevent them from becoming soft.
- Serve as a side dish with Dal and Rice or Fish Curry with Rice.
