Iceberg salad with italian dressing

Ingredients:
- cup olive oil
- tablespoons white wine vinegar
- tablespoon mayonnaise
- tablespoon sugar
- teaspoons dried oregano
- garlic clove, finely grated
- Kosher salt, freshly ground pepper
- small head of iceberg lettuce
- small red onion, sliced into rings
- ounces provolone piccante cheese, thinly sliced
- cup drained small mozzarella balls, torn
- peperoncini, halved if large
Instructions:
- Mix together oil, vinegar, mayonnaise, sugar, oregano, and garlic in a small bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice the lettuce in half from the stem end. Tear it into large pieces. Place the pieces on a serving dish and sprinkle with onion, provolone, mozzarella, and peperoncini, tucking them in between the leaves. Pour the dressing over the salad as desired (you may have some leftover) and sprinkle with additional black pepper on top.
- Preparation Tip: You can prepare the dressing a week in advance. Just cover it and refrigerate.
