Green salad with chorizo chips
Delight in the flavors of a fresh green salad topped with crispy chorizo chips. A perfect blend of smoky, savory, and crunchy in every bite.
Ingredients:
- 3 chorizo sausages (170g), thinly sliced on the diagonal
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 8 slices of sourdough bread, cut from a pullman loaf
- 170g Pepper Jack cheese, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons drained and sliced pickled jalapeños
- 170g Havarti cheese, thinly sliced
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, sauté the sliced chorizo over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until it turns lightly browned, approximately for 3 minutes. Place the cooked chorizo on paper towels to drain excess oil and then clean the skillet with a paper towel.
- Spread butter on one side of the bread slices and place 4 slices buttered side down on a flat surface. Layer with Pepper Jack cheese, chorizo, pickled jalapeños, and Havarti cheese. Cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing up.
- Heat up 2 large skillets. Place the sandwiches in the skillets and cook over medium heat, flipping once, until the bread becomes golden and crispy, for about 8 minutes. Cut the sandwiches in half before serving.
