Grapefruit salad with vanilla syrup and yogurt
Indulge in the refreshing blend of grapefruit slices drizzled with aromatic vanilla syrup, served alongside creamy yogurt. Perfect harmony of sweet and tangy flavors.
Ingredients:
- 2 grapefruit
- ½ vanilla bean
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 1 green apple, thinly sliced
- Greek yogurt, for serving
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Remove the skin and white membrane of the grapefruit. Cut it in half lengthwise, then slice it into crescent shapes. Place them in a bowl along with any released juices, and extract more juice from the skin. (Approximately 2 tablespoons of juice are needed.)
- Cut the vanilla bean down the middle lengthwise using a sharp knife. Use the back of the knife to scrape out the tiny seeds from each half. Mix these seeds with the sugar and grapefruit juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour the sweet liquid over the grapefruit and mix it with the bananas and apple. Present it on top of the yogurt, and if preferred, sprinkle some chia seeds over it.
