Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head red cabbage
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)

  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 6 hard boiled eggs
  • 2 bell peppers (any colors)
  • 450g sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 cup shredded or matchstick carrots
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • tortilla chips for garnish

Instructions:

  1. The order of the layers starts from the lowest point to the highest in the ingredient list.
  2. Slice each item into small pieces, adjusting the quantity based on the desired thickness of that specific layer. I usually make the iceberg lettuce the thickest layer.
  3. Once you reach the layers of sour cream, mayonnaise, and sugar, mix them together in a bowl using a whisk and then spread over the layer of bell peppers.
  4. Next, move on to the layer of cheese. The shredded carrots and tortilla strips can be store-bought.
  5. For best results, prepare this dish a day in advance to ensure all the ingredients are at the same temperature, the peas are thawed, and the dressing has infused. Hold off on adding the tortilla strips until right before serving.
