Ingredients:
- One 400g (396g) package firm tofu, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed or canola oil (or other high flashpoint oil)
- 1 tablespoon grated or minced fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seed oil
- Toasted sesame seeds, to garnish
- Sliced green onions, to garnish
Instructions:
- Use paper towels to press out any extra liquid from the tofu block. Slice it into pieces that are about 1/2-inch thick.
- In a large skillet, heat some oil over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu in a single layer (be cautious as the hot oil may splatter). Cook each side for 2-3 minutes until they turn golden and crispy.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the ginger, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and sesame oil carefully. Let it simmer for 1 minute. Serve the dish garnished with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
