Garden fresh tomato basil salad with halloumi cheese from a clevercajun

Indulge in the flavors of ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil & grilled halloumi in this delightful garden salad. A burst of savory, fresh taste awaits!

Ingredients:

  • 20-30 Fresh picked cherry tomatoes
  • 10-15 Leaves of garden basil
  • 2 teaspoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Block Halloumi cheese
  • Seasoning of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Once the tomatoes and basil are washed, proceed to slice the tomatoes in half and thinly chop the basil leaves.
  2. Combine the halved tomatoes, sliced basil, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and seasoning in a bowl. Mix everything thoroughly and let it sit while you prepare the Halloumi cheese.
  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a skillet. Cut the Halloumi cheese into quarter-inch slices lengthwise. Place the Halloumi slices in the skillet and cook until they turn golden brown on one side before flipping them over to cook the other side.
  4. After the cheese slices have a golden-brown color, roughly chop them and add to the salad.
