Fried mozzarella salad

Delight your taste buds with this crispy fried mozzarella salad. Golden, cheesy bites paired with fresh greens make a delectable and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup radicchio, shredded
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • 125 grams mozzarella balls
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • oil for frying
  • a handful for crushed tortilla chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix together the radicchio, spinach leaves, and lettuce in a large salad bowl. Drizzle a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the salad, season with salt to your preference, and gently mix everything together.
  2. Spread flour on a flat plate and breadcrumbs on another plate. In a small bowl, lightly whisk the egg. Remove mozzarella balls from their liquid and coat them evenly with flour first. Dip each ball into the beaten egg, ensuring an even coating, then transfer to the plate with breadcrumbs. Coat each ball evenly with breadcrumbs, pressing them gently to stick. Repeat this process for all mozzarella balls.
  3. Heat frying oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded mozzarella balls in the oil and fry for approximately 2 minutes, turning gently to brown on all sides. Fry until they are golden brown, then take them out of the pan and let them drain on paper towels.
  4. Combine the warm fried mozzarella with the salad and sprinkle some crushed tortilla chips on top. Serve the dish.
