Curried tuna salad

Delight in the exquisite flavors of curried tuna salad. A fusion of savory spices and tender tuna create a culinary masterpiece. Taste the harmony!

Ingredients:

  • Two 170g cans white meat tuna packed in water, drained
  • 3 tablespoons minced red onion, soaked in cold water for 5 minutes, drained
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoon golden raisins, plumped in 2 tablespoons warm water for 10 minutes, drained
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, like soy, peanut, or corn
  • 2 teaspoons Madras-style curry powder
  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice plus more to taste

Instructions:

  1. Using a fork, flake the tuna in a mixing bowl. Combine it with the diced onion, chopped fresh coriander, and raisins.
  2. Heat the oil in a small frying pan over medium heat, then mix in the curry powder. Stir for around 30 seconds until fragrant. Take the pan off the heat and let the oil cool down.
  3. Mix the curry-infused oil with the mayonnaise, season with salt, pepper, and lime juice. Carefully fold the tuna into the flavored mayonnaise. Serve either on a lettuce bed or as a sandwich filling.
