Caprese toast

Delight in the freshness of Caprese Toast, a vibrant fusion of ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, balsamic drizzle, and crusty bread.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium tomatoes, cored
  • 90g fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced into 16 pieces
  • 16 fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (see Tip)

Instructions:

  1. Lay the tomatoes with the cored side facing down on a flat surface. Create 8 slices along each tomato, cutting close to the bottom but not piercing through. Gently move the tomatoes onto a dish for serving. Stuff each incision alternatively with mozzarella and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Finish by drizzling oil and balsamic glaze over the tomatoes.
