Caesar salad
Indulge in the classic flavors of a Caesar salad. Crispy romaine lettuce, savory Caesar dressing, tangy Parmesan cheese, and crunchy croutons create a delightful symphony of taste.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups baguette cubes (1/2 inch)
- 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, plus 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano shavings (40g), for tossing
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 oil-packed anchovy fillet, drained
- 1 small garlic clove
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 3 hearts of romaine (about 340g), cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Instructions:
- Heat up the oven to 350°. Mix the baguette cubes with olive oil on a baking sheet with edges until they are fully covered. Bake for approximately 8 minutes until they become crispy. Allow them to cool down.
- Using a small food processor, blend together mayonnaise, shredded cheese, lemon juice, water, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy, and garlic until the mixture becomes smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix lettuce with croutons, dressing, and cheese shavings in a big bowl before serving.
