Blt salad
Enjoy a mouthwatering BLT salad featuring crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and tangy dressing - a flavorful treat for your taste buds!
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus a drizzle
- 6 slices thick cut bacon, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, grated or minced and crushed with flat blade of a knife
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons white balsamic vinegar or white wine vinegar
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons chopped chives
- 1 large heart romaine lettuce
- 1 head Traviso lettuce or radicchio
- 1 pint multi colored, red or yellow cherry tomatoes
Instructions:
- Warm a small amount of olive oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat and place bacon in it, cook until it becomes crispy then remove excess oil with paper towels.
- Combine minced garlic, mustard, vinegar and gradually pour extra-virgin olive oil to blend the dressing, add salt and pepper to taste and mix in chopped chives. Tear the lettuces into pieces and put them into the bowl. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and add them to the bowl along with the bacon. Mix the salad well to cover it evenly with the dressing and then it's ready to be served.
