Ingredients:

  • 500g flour
  • 200g carrot (grated)
  • 100g onion (finely chopped)
  • 300ml water
  • 10g yeast
  • 5g salt
  • 30g butter

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and grated carrot.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add the yeasty water and melted butter to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  9. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool before slicing.
