Savory Vegetable Bread

A delightful savory bread infused with nutritious vegetables, perfect as a side or standalone snack!

Ingredients:

  • 250g flour
  • 100g carrot, grated
  • 50g zucchini, grated
  • 30g onion, finely chopped
  • 50g cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 150ml warm water
  • 30g butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the grated carrot, grated zucchini, finely chopped onion, and shredded cheese.
  3. Pour the frothy yeast mixture into the dry ingredients followed by the melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Let the loaf rise again for 30 minutes, then bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
